Hiking into History with the Eagle County Historical Society!
Join Walking Mountains Science Center and the Eagle County Historical Society for a full day of hiking and history as we check out two of Eagle Valley’s most infamous landmarks. Guides from Walking Mountains will lead participants through the White River National Forest exploring the natural resources that made life in these remote parts possible. Experts, locals, and fellow community members from the Eagle County Historical Society will be on hand to tell the story of the once booming communities. Join us for stories from the past and a fun, educational day of learning about and from our special valley.
Our first hike, the Fulford History Hike, was July 18. Our second hike, Red Cliff, will be September 19.
Adults, $100/ person. All proceeds to be split between WMSC and ECHS. Transportation included from Walking Mountains Science Center in Avon.
